I fancy a retro coupe, have to take Mrs and Baby and (not at the same time) a bike.

I know that Grade A Failure and Steve PSD are VW fans...

I nearly bought a Scirocco many years ago and have always hankered for one. The best around seems to be £1500 - £2k so very good value at the moment too.

However I have also seen Corrado's around the £3k mark.
What ever I buy must be mint and low mileage, nothing over 100k so the G60 and VR6 are ruled out.

1. Can you fit the things I need to fit in a Corrado?
2. Is the 16v Corrado that much better to be worth £1500 more than a good GTX Scirocco?
3. Am I right in thinking that the Scirocco is a Mk1 Golf in a fancy frock and the Corrado is a Mk2/3 Golf in a Frock??

Your input, opinion is valued. Cheers.

don't know enough to be able to advise except to say Richard Hammond did a report for Top Gear saying Corrado's are a fantastic second hand buy, much underrated.

The Corrado is a MK2 Golf in a heavy frock :D

If you want original VR6 is the best option, G60 expensive if the G-Lader needs replacing, the 16V is a tad underpowered. If originality is not a problem buy a 16V and drop in an Audi 20V turbo lump :D .

Petit and bejou is the best way to descibe interior space.

If you can live with that, one of the best VW's ever built IMHO.
