orange aluminium elite limited edition gold

yeah i know about how crap they are!! even though i do happily ride NOS stuff, these are more for show, i have a set of these rims on my c16r and they are fine and have been used quite alot but the NOS rims i got for these xtr hubs are a little dodgy in places, they had never been built but a couple of the eyelets were already dodgy

glad you guys are thinking the same way as me though, i think the hope 217's will be better suited to the P7

Nope I hadn't seen the P7 thread, (so just been to find it, lucky bugger  but I still think Hopes Fatso are better on this with the Sus forks and the skinnier XTR will be absolutely lovely on the P7 with the F7 forks.

but my thinking is that if i use the m900 wheels on this i already have an xtr headset and f/mech that fit it, and the m900 is the wrong era for the p7, that should get m950 if it's xtr? my original P7 in mid 1996 was 8speed xt with v brakes with m900 front mech and m950 rear mech, mixed mechs because i ran 110 bcd front rings and needed a non compact front mech and xtr was by then compact.

i know i'm not usually that obssessive about getting the era right but this just makes sense to me

finished update!! :D

spec wise it has changed quite abit, i decided to go rigid on the front end, thanks very much the gtsteve for the rc30 forks :D then wheel wise i did fit the m900/fir orange rims, the gear set is mostly 7speed xt but running 8speed cassette with suntour xc pro thumbshifters, riding it today at thetford there was not one missed gear  the brakes aren't very good though but that is down to the rims, no machining at all on them so no friction so no brakes!!!

here's the finished pics :D also if i'm lucky it might be in MBR next month!! :D
