Ta for the tyre tips :)

No worries. Lengthwise, the stays are really long - Hence I even got a 29er wheel in there.

But with fat rubber, you need to slide the wheel back a LONG way to stop tyre rub, as the chainstays aren't very wide near the BB. I guess they don't flare out much immediately behind the BB cos the rear axle is narrower than a MTB (??).

[/geek]

nice to see another humuhumu..

my beast got me around the Catterick Nemba in 95 with a bloody 46 front ring, had a bit of a rebuild in between (well the original hub blew up) then did the SS worlds on it. fun.

mine's a random build, ritchey stem, go fast risers, Real brake levers, USE post, Cooks RSR's, the same Shimano DX rear hub, think the front is a White Industries and some Tioga Butterscotches..

..oh and i've got a bubble wrapped stars n bars too. Love em.

I raced this one a few times in years gone by. There was a corner at Cheddar that it wouldn't actually fit around...

Anyway. I now have the original forks, and a Kona seatpost, and a headset, so progress is being made :)
