that is really nicely put together but...

why the red nipples?

The wheels had already been built I guess when Bas bought them. Its a job for me to do- I already have some blue nipples to swap out. Tedious task though so might be some time.

Thanks for all your kind words guys. Maybe when the sun comes out I will get pics of the Ti with its fat family- Wicked, Yo Eddy and Shock-a-Billy?

Si what size of canti bosses do you need? Toronto cycles has 4 different Ti ones listed:

M10 Titanium Brake Mount Post Stud Set (1.0 Pitch)
M10 Titanium Brake Mount Post Stud Set (1.25 Pitch)
M10 Titanium Brake Mount Post Stud Set (1.5 Pitch)
M8 Titanium Brake Mount Post Stud Set (1.25 Pitch

Oh and nice bike  though I think your being a tad greedy

Hi Rob.
There is a story behind the fork. The one I won on eBay was a NOS BOI in Wild Cherry. It turned out that the fork was badly twisted and the seller contacted me to offer a refund. He then offered me this Yo Eddy BOI that had had garage queen use only from new. I'm sure you know that the Eddy fork has inch dia legs and the yo Eddy BOI has 1 1/8th legs- these measure up as inch and eighth dia and with the slightly longer suss corrected length of the later fork. A nice find for my Fat!

Ah!!

After I posted that, I went looking, and thought something was different. Did you mean the BOI has 1" leg diameters and the yo eddy has 1.125" diameter legs? BOI meaning Big One Inch.

I'm going to post a thread with my set of fat city segmented forks: one a later BOI and an early yo eddy.

nevertheless, the fork looks great on your Fat Ti :D

Its a funny one Rob. From what I have read (and I'm sure some fat expert like Scant or Rody will correct me if I'm wrong) the segmented fork made proir to approx 1992 was known as the the Yo Eddy fork (obviously there was also the Box Crown Fork in the mid 80's) of which the legs have a dia of one inch. The BOI (Big One Inch), which is sometimes confusingly refered in catalogues as Yo Eddy Big One Inch had a leg dia of 1 1/8th (irrespective of steerer dia). So it is not physically one inch but a big inch if you get the joke.
There is much debate as to which one rides nicest. I have both and cannot tell the difference TBH.

hmmm, I don't doubt you know your stuff, Si, and this has been written up in many a forum and by many an expert, so I'm sure we are reading the same stuff...perhaps I'm confused...I'll check back later. Plus I'll post mine up, but not here as to not hijack your Fat Ti thread; thanks.

you would think the BIO would be a more stiff, direct and a harsher ride Si but I doubt I have the abilty to tell the difference either

After I posted up I got to thinking too, so started to look for the things I had read some time back. Luckily there is a new thread on FatCogs on this very subject and it looks like I have my wires crossed. BOI is indeed one inch and the earlier Yo fork is 1.125 or 1 1/8th.
So, what I have here is a Yo Eddy fork not the BOI, but this fork is longer than the Yo fork on my Yo- I guess its suspension corrected? But the Yo fork was supposedly pre 93 and I would have thought that FAT didn't do suspenion corrected forks before the end of 92- hence my confusion. Needs more looking into methinks. :?
