Very clean again but what is it with the crazy rifling on the tubing - not paint, surely?

the rifling on the tubes!
this is how the tubes were made
they call it the knurled tube finish.top tube/seat tube and down tube.
i believe all cromor frames are like this,if i'm right.
this is what attracted me to the frameset.i purchased this on ebay (yuk)
to be honest benotto is my all time favourite builder,i also have a model 3000 in the stable, the only thing needs doing to finish are the cabling,i need to purchase the blue outers to match the bar tape and decals.
the model 3000 was used in the famous paris roubaix race in the seventies,by none other than roger de-vlaeminck.it is shown a the start of the 1976 race,a mechanic preparing one for the race.it is exactly the same as the one i have.yes it's cost me a fortune to restore, but hopefuly an investment years to come.
i will post the 3000 soon, but not exactly finished, see what you think
ps. if anyone has blue outer cabling, please let me know
malc

also ole ritter and francesco moser did really well on benotto bikes for the sanson team both in the giro, l'enfer du nord and briefly in the hour as well.
i love my benotto too
