Hiya,

I just picked this up for pennies and cant believe my luck.

The old boy that I bought it from was a bit choked to sell as he has owned it from new but simply cant ride it anymore.

What do you think?

I dont quite know what to do with it as I keep meaning to build a fixie and this would be perfect but at the moment cant bring myself to start stripping it down.

Don't do it, it looks pretty original with nice bars, I think an oil rag restoration for this one IMHO

Guessing late 30's early 40's, at this date many of the components will have patent adates on etc

'Oil Rag' restoration - I like that

Ill certainly clean it and replace the chain but thats as far as it will go, its patina has taken decades to acquire!

That's really gorgeous!

I do like the patina. But on the other hand, I'd be tempted to restore it back to showroom condition and show the old boy your handiwork, I bet he'd love it if you did that.

I'd say just relube and ride. You will be looking at a lot of money to get that to showroom condition.
