East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

really really sorry about tonight - boiler packed in at home and so had to go back and get it sorted - panicking wife with no hot water or central heating on the coldest night so far

Khane - especially sorry you had to cycle in the rain for nothing :(

I confess I just didn't feel up to it. Cold, wet and simply exhausted. The pub beckoned :?

Sorry I wasn't able to stop Khane once he had left home..

Hope the boiler is fixable Ed.

after 30 mins i didnt notice the rain.
but 1 thing i have found out my supposed to be water proof jacket isnt very waterproof

despite it being pretty poor weather it wasnt that bad of a ride over lol.

Got a call from the police yesterday saying they had found my bike. It had been found the next morning in the center of Nottingham and someone had handed it in.

When I collected it a policeman came down with it and said how upset 'all the lads' were that it had been collected as they were all into mountain biking and were hoping it would go into the auction.

Went out on it today and rode some of the route we did last friday. It was bloody quick downhill being frozen but all the ruts made it really hard back up!

On my ride I dicovered the front shock doesn't work on the bike, they have mashed up the top of my Hope light, the bottom bracket is loose and a there is a variety of small cosmetic damages.

Ho hum!

Thats fantastic. :D She's back, maybe needing care and attention , but hey, the bond grows stronger.
Whoops, just watched the end 20 minutes of Love Actually, waiting for Carol to go to bed so that Match of the Day could appear. She didn't and I missed it.

Purchased Specialised boots (ala Khane), and contemplating returning to clipping in again, so decided to overhaul the old 737 spds. Smallest bearings in the the world  Luckily they seemed fine and the races were good. Will go out tomorrow and give them a try.

First ride out

Can't get on with the handlebars though - they're going asap :?

Fantastic looking bike, fantastic looking view!

Give the risers time. They come into there own on singletrack or when it gets technical. Maybe less rise on the stem would help. It looks massive.

Nice kink in the down tube.

Love the colour with the Charge Spoon saddle!
