Dying a saddle

Anyone done this?

Got a white Turbo that's in poor condition cosmetically, was thinking about getting some leather dye and dying it black.

Any problems doing that? Will the dye run or rub off or anything?

Cheers.

I used some leather chair restorer on a black Flite which once dry doesn't come off to touch, but I wouldn't ride that bike in my white Armani suit...

Haha, that's what I was worried about. It would be going on a mate's bike if I dyed it, so I dunno...

There were kits for car seats available, woolies possibly. Was a cleaner, dye and sealant type affair.

Bit late getting round to this topic, but a good tip if you're going to recover a saddle is to go to a charity shop and look for a cheap leather jacket - they always seem to have plenty of choice/colours, and you can recover a few saddles from one.

Just what I have done. . Half a sleeve was more than enough. And my very light mtb seat now looks like a Charge Spoon
