Retrobike Rider
Recent acquisition frame and fork has me floundering around the forum wondering where to start...

E-stay - check
700c wheels - check
Disc front - check
V brake rear - check
Steep head angle - check
Track ends - check

WTF??

If Edwards uses the adjective 'hybrid' I shall reveal his new malaise... ;-)

Mr K

PS. As it's headed for urban pseuds duty on the cycle polo court, I'd better pick up the faux arm warmers too...

Impressive find, chuck some Yeti decals on it and you'll have your own road based Pro Faux from when JT headed to the road.

Some definite faux potential there. Might I suggest some 'carbon weave' from ripseed to further enchance the effect.

If you will use it for polo why not get it built then just back your car over it. Bike gets smashed up but you don't.

You say hybrid, I say clown bike but either way it is a total mash up (and not in a good Jay Z/Linkin Park way either).

Will you wear a jaunty little cap when riding your urban little polo pony?

I know you've all been waiting anxiously for an update on the B-Twin/Decathlon faux urban hipster project - well here it is in the flesh.... turns out that the track ends were indeed faux, as the frame was designed to run ladyshopper internal geared hubs... :)

Now red oxided, text stop is to source an MTB-wide fixed hub (and some city threads)...

Our fledgling team aka The Hip Replacements have undertaken our first practice session and are ready to play ball!

After the first few games in an NCP carpark, modifications were deemed necessary to enhance the polo bike... principally a nutted rear axle (to stop the chain slop) and cream tyres for a sense of aesthetic!

The team encountered our first spills - elbows and hands seem to take a repeated beating in this 'sport' - but we're still keen to develop some skill levels to be able to make up the numbers in a tournament or two...
