East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

The Arae Events Co-ordinator organises the rides on the dates set in the calendar (soon to be revealed), the deputy is able assistant and steps in when the AEC has family issues (in my case!!)...

dry and very toasty

Hmmm. Went out for a couple of hours this morning. Blocks of ice would have been warmer..... and it isn't really cold yet
Seems to be between the Specialised and the MW80, both about the same price and such a lot of money.....if only Carol hadn't thrown my old Line 7 boots away.. :( . I would go for the old MW02 if I could find a pair in the right size (43 or 44) and save £40.

i spent about 3 or 4 weeks trying to win a pair of winter boots on ebay.
so hard finding some in size 45 - 45.5 and when they did come up they went for stupid money.

so in the end i went online window shopping and found the specialized was the cheapest i could find, and from a shop in leicester (not julies as they suck lol)

http://www.mailordercycles.com/products ... 2b0s68p254

they had some 43 & 44 in stock at the shop but not 45 so i had to order them online, which led to the whole 3 week palarva.

I was fortunate finding some winter boots last year, £22 on Ebay. I'm normally a size 10.5, these were a size 12. Good job too as with winter socks etc they're just right - have you factored this in?

yes i factored that in.
i went to the shop with my thickest pair of socks on and tryed on a pair (not the defrosters but another pair of specialzed) to check size.

as i said to the guy in the shop all the different manufacturers have different size charts.

which was where i went wrong with the pair of 661s i got from chain reactions
which are freakin massive.

my biggest problem when buying shoes is that my feet are different sizes 1 is nearly a full size bigger than the other.

It's getting a bit dusty in here...is that a cobweb?

And whose in the tumbleweed?

You are right.
Should have a caption competition to pass the time:
First pic = Man dies in attempt to eat giant ball of wire wool
Second pic = www.mademanifest

Got out at the weekend for a few miles of mostly trails . Seem to have endless work and home stuff on at the moment. Rebuilt the bearings in my spds (grief those balls are small), in prep for new winter boots with stiff and insulated soles. Will give them a go and see how the knees fare. Really should take the Kona out in readiness for Cannock, but can't bear to subject it to the current gloop.

Keep fettling :D :D
