genuinely confused by e-bay sometimes.. the 91 Cindercone which went at the start of the week was in similar condition to this and went for over £300 ... This is the original import from the first year Konas were available over here, has the wicked splatter paint job and goes for less than half that ... go figure :roll:
 
Is it really 'that' shocking that an old bike sold for £140? The Cinder Cone was a mid-range, mass produced bicycle, not some super custom exotica.
 
As I remember it, the Cindercone was universally praised by all the test riders of the day. I think Konas of that period had a massive influence on bike design and many manufacturers went on to copy the look.

It was a very desirable machine, there can't be many around in that condition, so on that basis I'd say it was definitely worth more than £140. But then I would say that as I paid £120 for a Firemountain!
