Original shimano rapidfires (not plus). Lasted approximately 3 seconds before breaking, and then being exchanged for DX thumbies.
Alu anodized bolts - ok until people started using them to hold their front brakes on...
Girvin vector forks - had a set on my Proflex. Approx 3mm travel.
U-brakes - an excellent way of collecting leaves, and then your rear wheel jams solid.

Again Room 101 allows people send thigs into the room but must justify their reasons. There is no right or wrong.
I have learned quite a few things from threads like these, a couple mentioned here allready (Tioga disc and Manitou frames) that was a complete revelation at the time.

Biopace chain rings - they never really seemed to do what they said they would.
