Do you think people think in their regional accents?

I have worked with Italians, Phillipino's and Dutch and had to issue orders to crew in many languages but obviously I am not fluent enough as I always think it in english first.

As for regional accents I am ex Public school and as such do not have an accent. Much.

I deffo think in my Southern accent...bit's of Kiwi creep in now and again though..."sweet as!"

Slightly off topic.

Its interesting to note that prior to birth a baby has already learnt what its native langauage is, such that shortly after birth a Russian baby is comforted most by the sound of Russian language, German by German etc and the same goes for English and US regional areas. ie a Southern baby will be most comforted by a southern sounding voice.

How this relates to thinking in their regional tongue I'm not sure but I'm sure someone has done a PHD on it somewhere. :D
