Specs for the Mavic 217 give a max size of 2.1. Be careful running a 2.35.

TimTim is right re the 2,35's though, it's not safe.
But no worries, I'll take those too big tires off you ;) ;)

i have been riding for quite some time hutchinson 2.3 on 217s. at low and high pressure. rigid forks. rocky trails. mixed speeds.

Final version

with 217 rims laced to M910 hubs with DT competition spokes

my first wheelset build ;)
thanks to sheldon brown, minoura and parktool!

Absolutely fabulous, very very nice, thanks for sharing.

One look at this should convince Joe to skip the bent downtube on the new ones...

Enjoy!!

Has that been entered for Bike of the Month yet? It's stunning! Where did you find M910 hubs!? They're rarer than unicorn poo!

Yes. That has worked out nicely. Well done mate.

Is everything "period" now?

Cheers,

Luke

could not bet on it but most of it I believe  but I am not a obsessed NOS period freak  most of the stuff was used but in good to very good condition. One tyre was NOS, the other close to. Front hub was NOS too.

(non period could be grips bar end plugs and spokes ;) )

had always trouble with flite saddles :?:

for BOTM, might have a go one of these days now its finished ;) but competition is f------ fierce !

For the 910 hubs, for the rear, I quite agree. But GearlessinSeattle was kind enough to sell me a used one ;)

Front one could actually be found with skewer NOS on ebay Germany – dunno if any left

happy of your nice comments
