USE Thermoplastic Shim Aesthetics

Does anyone else use an old 25mm USE Seatpost with a thermoplastic shim?

I've got a 25.0 to 26.4mm shim on mine but the top lip of the shim has to sit above my neat little silver seatpost clamp. I find this most annoying as it's black and sticks out like a sore thumb between my silver clamp and silver post.

Do you guys just cut the lip off or suffer the eyesore?

It's not bothered me yet.
Thanks for reminding me that I need to file mine down a bit.

Pop yourself down to the local model shop and buy a tin of humbrol silver paint. Tamiya do one called aluminium. and just give it a quick coat or two.

The problem with taking the lip off is you run the risk of the shim slipping down inside the seat tube.

I hacksawed most of the lip off leaving just enough to stop it slipping down. The clamp sits over the top fine.

Shame I have just seen this... I have a spare aluminium flat topped shim. 25.0mm -> 26.4mm.

Dammit, shoulda done a deal for the Barrel Adjusters! :)

PM me how much you want for it. Cheers
