Hi - Friend of mine wants to get rid of this - is it worth anything in money terms?

Hard to tell when you say nothing about the components etc.

However, I can't see a frame tubing sticker, and the rims appear to me to be steel. Also it has suicide brake levers, so I suspect it's a cheap lookalike racer made in high tensile tubing.
 
Guessing mass produced, rebadged(badge engineered by Raleigh) mid 70's 'gastube' nothing wrong with per se , just heavy basic and a little uninspiring.
Steel rims, cheaper Huret deraillieurs at a guess and possibly basic Maillard hubs?
looks fairly clean though...
