Bianchi Specialissima X4 TSX??

INDECS

Devout Dirtbag
Does anybody know what year and model this Bianchi frame is.
As you can see it's Columbus TSX steel with aero forks, kinda like the Merckx MX leader fork.
Lots of engravings... someone suspected it to be a Specialissima X4.

I've searched high and low but can't find a picture of a similar frame. Seems to be quite rare.

Wow, what a beauty! Love the detailing on the frame.

TSX would date it to early 90s. It'll make a fine riding frame, what are your plans for it?

I bought it earlier this year in a package deal together with a Concorde.
This one had a nice Chorus gruppo with Delta brakes and lovely Campagnolo wheels.

Right now it's up for sale locally (taking offers) as it's too small for me.

Hi there
I bought one of these new in 1991 from Paul Milnes' shop in Bradford. I seem to remember it was NOS then, so might have been about 1989 model in reality. The Gewiss Bianchi team rode on them (Moreno Argentin was the team leader), in these colours (i.e. black headtube and stays....and maybe even black forks too) so if you can find a reference to the team....you will work out the year :D

Wish I'd kept mine!

bianchi specialissima x4

Hello!
I have nearly the same Bianchi frame, only without the black painting of the head tube and the rear triangle. I bought it in 1990 and it is a 1989 model "specialissima X4 reparto corse". Yours with the black painting is the specialissima X4 reparto corse "Moreno Argentin Replica" built in 1988 with SLX tubings and in 1989 with TSX.
Greetings, Hauke

I had one of the SLX ones, but the forks were black also (its not actually black - a very dark black/brown smoke colour). Mine had a delta groupset on it which came off my colnago master. Under the paint, the whole frame is nickel plated.

Oh, how lovely!

One of my dream bikes would include this frameset. I had a Bianchi SLX which was as already stated, from 1988/89, and these were a year later, I think.
My SLX got robbed, and I was sick. In fact, I still am, and it's 19 years later!
Never found a road bike that felt, handled or rode like it. The feel of that frame was simply fantastic. I searched for something similar, but never came close.

Surely this is going to get the full C. Record treatment?

You are correct, this is an X-4

the only thing wrong with this frame is that it doesn't have the original decals on the down tube/top tube/seat tube. The frame is about a 1988 model. the decals are from mid to late 90s. nonetheless a very very very nice frame
