Of course there was a dedicated mount, it's called the M900 brake lever 
just jesting, but shifter pads are unavailable, let alone NOS ones. You must have had some good luck come your way.

i just got myself a set of NOS shifter pods. i need a set of brackets to mount them on the handlebar. also a set of those XTR brake levers are good.
