Looking awesome, how does it ride?

Ok, bit different to other entries but here's Marcel Duijn's Rabobank team cross bike (2000-03 is the best guess date so not super retro but cantis, an inch fork and a strange combo threaded/aheadset means for me it's sort of retro), picked up 10 days ago and pictured up my local woods.

Full Dura Ace (with team edition seatpost, cranks and STI lever blades) bar an LX top pull front mech and exactly as I bought it (including saddle height!) bar a clean and addition of some pedals.

In particular check out the Gilco tubing (makes shouldering painful but looks bob on) and 'Belgian' straddle wire height (makes stopping more of an effort of will rather than anything you can actually influence by pulling on the brake levers; within a year I will be Derren Brown).

Does it has XTR -headset but threads are machined away, they used those when shimano did´t have ahead -headsets.

I had similar, but road version.
