1941 Schwinn DX Klunker

I use 28/38/52 on my Schwinn and find them a good spread. I only ever use the outer two- very rarely use the smaller ring.
I'm now looking for a DX to build up with a 2 speed coaster rear and have a few cranksets in the mix- Another TA with 175 arms and a 48 ring, a pair of Nervars with a 52T and some early Suntour Mighty's with a 52T.

I agree that sourcing parts is not too difficult over in Europe- a few things like frame and forks and Ashtabula stems are the only things you need from the States.

Give it a go- they are beautiful bikes, and great fun to ride out on the trails.

Brought the camera with me on tonights ride around the neighborhood. Summer is ending, it is getting dark early:

Great project

Cranks: You already filed something away at both transitions spider-arm?

File

No, I haven't filed anything. Although I have researched these cranks enough to know what you are talking about, (no there aren't any cracks yet), I have not filed on them to prevent them from forming cracks in the future. Do you have a good link on the best approach?
Thanks,
T
