'97 King Kahuna - Updated 13th October

Update 3rd September

Interim update....

Right, been spending (what's left of) the savings :!: and aquiring a few parts.

Looking at a retro style, but with as lightweight parts as I could afford :!: Main objective was to get the 'look' as I wanted and I think the parts I've gone for are an improvement over the original build.

King Sotto Voce headset
Syntace F99 stem
Gripshift X-rays, thought I'd give them a go, look tidy and are lightweight, XTR M951's in reserve if I don't like them ;)
Fox Float RLC 100 @ 100mm travel at the mo, will be dropped to 80mm - Suit the frame better than the RC36's IMO.
USE seatpost in black
Conti Speed King Supersonics in 2.3, off my Superlight and cleaned
Raceface Deus Chainset and BB - won't be staying, going for RS8 Duo Isis - black rings and silver arms.
Oh and the gorgeous King wheelset

Waiting on USE Atom carbon riser, then I'll get the cables and chain on etc :)

The bike looks great

One thing though - Chris King hubs don't take kindly to being built up radially. In fact the company themselves advise against it.

Amazing build, I think the modern parts look really good on the Frame, especially the forks

I'd be leaving Syncros parts on it, that stuff always goes well with Konas, especially trick titanium ones :D

Thanks for that,

The wheel was built that way when I bought it. Would you suggest it needs re-building then?

Thanks for the +ive comments

The Syncros won't be going back on I'm afraid; the stem was one of the things I specifically wanted to change ;)
