1994 Specialized Stumpjumper

I've been meaning to show my stumpy for a while now, its nearly done for now, bar the saddle and headset, which both need to go. Its a 1994 stumpjumper, de badged by the previous owner! It rides like a dream and has converted me to a steel fan after a lifetime of stiff alu steeds!

Like it, especially the bar.

Would look good badged up again with Stumpjumper on the downtube.

Very nice indeed. Now go and get it dirty!

The stem looks good in black - though I'd prefer a metal bar myself.

I haven't seen those big MAVIC decals on 217 rims before. Are they original?

Thanks for the replies chaps,

I agree but i'm not sure how I could do this neatly without a respray and that would ruin the lovely patina!

I'm afraid I don't know, they were in place when i picked the bike up so I've no way of telling unfortunately!

Lovely looking bike. I like the matched yellow graphics & Love that colour. I think it looks cool without the Stumpy decals too. Good work!

WOW! I had one of these back in '95! Picked it up from a bikeshop-owner, who had only used it 2 times, and that was a sweeeeeeet bike! Grey Umma gumma tires, and grey specialized grips and saddle. That green color is just fantastic. And I paid next to nothing for it. Only seen two of those here in Denmark (BITD).

Unfortunately mine got stolen in Spain back in '96, so now I only have my '97 Stumpy. Just as good, but it's not green...

Actually I considered repainting my Stumpy in this color, but couldn't find any decent pictures to recreate the color from, so now it's beige.

Happy to hear you're so pleased with your '94 Stumpy! You can be sure I would be. Hang on to it, you'll never get a better bike without paying 4 times the price.

Cheers,

Ulrich
