Edit: Dangit. Posted in wrong forum! Can't move it to <1998! Oh well.

Here is my Ritchey P-21.

17" P-21. Serial is P 012. When I got it, the parts build suggested it was a 1995 or 1996, but I am not certain of the year based on the low serial number.

Obviously, I "modernized" it a bit, but it suits me better this way. Took me a _long_ time to find this bike. It was my dream bike in college. I prefer the alternate fade paint job, but this one has grown on me. I'm only 20 miles from DnD painting, so maybe one day I'll get it redone in the fade I want.

I liked it better before!

Only joking ;)

Great looking build and a top singletrack killer.

Al, :D

agree with you - its a dream of a bike :cool:

I would retain this paint job, if that would be my bike ;)

from looking closer to the 2nd pic. I would say you used the crown/steerer from a 96 Judy and mate the SID to it, or am I wrong ?

YES

someone did something right! no risers, and ugly shit old man stuff...

This is how people should modernize old bikes to make them racers! again...

Really good work, I would probarly kept the thumbies and 8speed because of their "index" function which is king when everything goes bananas in the mud. But otherwise this is function and form combined. seems to handle the higher frontend really well to.

@magas,

Yes you're right. It's a Judy SL threadless crown on top of SID lowers. I saw that "trick" over at VRC forums at mtbr.com and figured it is probably the only way i would ever be able to get SIDs in a 1" size since they didn't make them beyond '98?

Alas, I'm actually considering selling the bike now. Anyone interested? :?
