middleburn failure

My Rs-3's failed a couple of years ago, while track standing at some traffic lights. A loud bang and a slightly shocked string of expletives followed...

Yup, anyone running any make of cranks with the tapered hole orientated this way needs to examine them regularly or be prepared to take a flight :)

All the Shimano and Sugino ones had the taper at 45 degrees just like the original Middleburns. They just left a bit more metal round them.. ;)

sent Middleburn an email with pics included around a week ago, haven't heard anything yet.

sent another email, still haven't heard anything. maybe their internet connection has the same failure rate.
 
That's odd - I contacted them on Monday about sourcing a replacement LHS crank (don't ask, my fault :oops: ) and they replied at 21:45!
