A few months ago I couldn't think owning a singlespeed bike! But as I came across a nice cheap Trek 970 Single Track I changed my mind. But I wouldn't do a normal SS-bike. I want it to be a little over-the-top! A bit of a cruiser, looking like a MTB...
These are some pics of te status of the bike so far.

It's a Trek 970 Single Track from 1991. Black with white splatters...
black XT brakes (the originals)
black Truvativ cranck with Salsa 34t ring
black Wolber rims with Deore DX hubs
black On One QR's
black On One Doofer
Shimano DX Singlespeed 16t cog
black Diatech brake levers

Brown Schwalbe Fat Frank's 26x2.35 (balloon tyres)
Brown leather grips
Brown Singlespeed saddle

As you can read, it's gone be black and brown.....

Like to hear your opinion
:)

Hope to post some better pics soon!

Update!

Still looking for a 1 1/8' threaded cable hanger in black. Dia Compe or Logic might do, but hard to find......

Great job. I have the exact bike and have been considering converting my 970 to a fixed gear(instead of selling it). Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nicely done. Those frames ride quite nicely-- Should be a fun steed!

I like it. Would look better with a shorter stem or flat bars I think.
