1990 Cannondale SM1000 (Serial #51810906661)

looks nice! i love early 90ees cdales.
btw. my sm1000 frame was built in 1989 but specs and paint are 1990. that makes it a 1990 bike.

I love cantilever dropout dales. .. I ride a 2.8 to work every day. .
Do you have a roadie in the stable to match, the R1000.. .?
Future project mate. .

Fear not.....You've got more chance of seeing a one legged cat burying a turd on a frozen pond than seeing me anywhere near a road bike

My shed is getting cluttered with 'Dales now though

Great !
I have saw it on mtbr ? :p

I would precise the year : it's a 1991.
In the 1991 catalog, Cannondale has stop to write their name on the horizontal tube and prefer to put it on the diagonal and bigger. The "aluminum fork" we could see on the 1990 SM 2000 and on the yellow omega, became "pepperoni and was on the omega, SM2000, SM1000 and on the beast of the east SM800. In 1991, you could find the EST frame with the rear suspension. For the color, the SE 1000 and the SM1000 were both metallic grey, with suntour XC comp groupo, but the SM 1000 was in this beautifull color too, "blue pearl".

The 1990 SM 1000 was black and white with a ritchey steel fork, and was shimano DX equiped.
Your bike is quite original, but the shifter was "cannondale gripshift" the bar was an easton cannondale competition, and the flte saddle was a cannondale leather, near a turbo sella italia ;) But it's details

What a beautifull bike you have…
(you can see mine and the catalog page )
