East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

well looks like there's a ride this Thursday (?) evening (I can't make it), after that not sure. There is Mr K's Peak ride on 26th Sept though which is always popular and a great event.

I might be able to do a Ticknall sometime next week - might be nearly lights time :(

i'm always up for an evening ride (ticknall i can do, pines i cant get too)

26th of sept is along way off.
i was thinking more along the lines of maybe the end of the month start of sept meet, i remember you mentioning cannock ed.

The next couple of weekends are out for me, and September is uncertain as a holiday needs to be grabbed. I intend to do Mr K's ride.

I have said I would do a Saturday or Sunday Ticknall / Robin Wood ride (say 20 -24 miles). Last weekend in August anyone ?

Should be on for Ticknall one evening next week.

I'm still up for the Pines this thursday but can probably do Ticknall next week as well.

Nearly time for lights? Yeah!

If anyone is looking for a cheap light solution check out the following links. They aren't HIDs but they are alright!

I have one of the Lightstars and can bring it with me next ride. I haven't tried the brackets but they are cheap enough to take a risk. You could also zip tie them to your helmet which works well.

and bike mounts...

There are other Cree LED torches on ebay from China but that might be too bigger risk.

The other option is the Hope Vision 1 (Again I can bring one) which is brill if you get the right rechargeables...2500 or higher is a must:

I'd have one Hope over two Lightstars (I think) but the Hope is a bit heavy for helmet mounting although it comes with handlebar and helmet brackets...

Oh dear, there's always something new to buy!
