Aerospoke wheels - yay or nay?

Does the front wheel hit the fork crown when it hits a bump in the road? This has to be one of the ugliest bikes I've ever seen, surely a joke?

hmm can't say I like that trek much lol

although... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSdFwO0jt5I

26 seconds in...I do kind of like that bike, appeals to the bmx bandit in me I guess

Loads of people in there running one on the front wheel and spokes on the rear - is this a pose thing or is there a reason for it? Enquiring minds want to know..

Given that the video is full of fakengers doing wicked mad skill tricks (eg a trackstand) on bikes with 6" wide handlebars, I think it should be fairly clear that a front aerospoke serves no practical purpose at all.

If you want a cheapish aero type wheel why not try something proper like the old Specialized tri spokes?

Hey I don't necessarily want one, or even two, I just posted to get some opinions on these kind of wheels ;)

the specialized tri spokes don't seem that cheap either...
