Santa Cruz Chameleon - updated...

Having got back into my riding the Chameleon needed a bit of an overhaul, as parts were worn out and things had started breaking.

About a year ago the bike looked this, and had done for nearly 10 years, with only the odd service keeping it going...

Now with updated parts it rides better than ever and definitely had a new lease of life. I've ridden at Coed-y-brenin before and after the changes and can quite happily say the changes are for the better.

The old Z1's are going to be serviced and secured on the front of a '98 Trailstar, which again will be a mix of old and new.

Love the red-white-and-blue Middleburns.

I've got a set of those cranks with a two-ring spider. Any idea what RS-HD (not DH) stands for? Race Series - Heavy Duty?

I've only ever seen 1 other pair of the cranks, and that was on ebay. What's even more confusing about them is on the drive side it says RS-HD, as in the pic above, but on the other crank arm it says RS-DH.

Is this just a mis-stamp at the factory or something else?

Matt, well definitely have to go for a play soon, when we get sunshine again though!
