Does anyone know if the link wire thingys (like a canti straddle wire really) are still available for a set of 26 year old centre pulls???

I suppose you mean the cable on top in this pic

You make one yourself using a regular MTB brake cable and a little cylindric bit with tiny hidden allen screw (available at hard ware store, not rarely used on mopeds)
 
99% sure I have some. I acquired a display box, no that isn't the term, call it a set of lots of little plastic transparent drawers in a case. An old Weinmann spares kit full of things like that. Hundreds of bits. I'll look in the morning. Ask if there is anything else wanted
 
Thats all I need as mine are rusty - Im gonna get my dads old Clubman on the road - its totally original and fairly mint but the brake cables are all rusted...

If you find some PM me and Ill buy a couple!
