Zebrakenko Olympic-Ace

Another top notch find Melvin. Look forward to seeing it after a tune up (andwith a bit of bar tape)

Have you ever ridden it - I've done it twice. Last time was 2005 on a 1949 Bates in 11hr 55mins.

If/when I ever do it again it will be on a 70's/early 80's bike that is a little less punishing, something like a Full Pro Race or a UK built Mercian or Roberts.

Hi Fredgassit,

No. I've never ridden it ...but I should do! Looks Cool. Is it?

1949 bicycle.... hmm, my bikes do not go that far back.

What is a 'Full Pro Race' if I may ask?

I do have FullPros by Koga-Miyata. The blue/gold of the early 80s. I think the Zebrakenko would be great to enter the race with. Also bikes from Japanese soil covered  The Koga could well too, but the Panasonic (PR-6000) is too new for this kind of event.

Melvin, are you planning on going this year? I don't think I can make it, but I am still hoping to do so. Two bikes are on my list for it, either the Nishiki or my Viscount. I am in the neighbourhood many times, so probably this year will be just practice!

Not really planning yet, but I will sure let my mind go on this. If so, the Q what bike to pick is already solved :)
