Below are a couple of images of my mountain bike taken earlier today
As I said above, at the time of purchase I was working and regularly commuting by bicycle to a large city in the UK. On my various routes to and from home there were plenty of large potholes, so I wanted a bike that would be fairly robust. Hence the conversion of this machine to road use. What do you think of my aging MTB?

Welcome to the forum.
That Stumpy is lovely, you can see its been well cared for. They are pretty versatile machines, you can race them,trail ride them, tour on them and as you show can commute on them.
