Well, i'm getting her to Bob Jackson's for the respray at some point in the next week. All i need is cassette, bb & chain - some new skewers & maybe a new seat collar if a 30mm will do me.
Did a pre-respray build-up to try and decide if should go with amberwalls or not. Tried the blackwall Onza Rip & Rail that i got with my wheels & some 1.9" skinwall Schwalbe Cityjets i'm using on my pahoehoe for commuting to see what the craic was.
I'm thinking blackwalls - Kona specced them in '94 anyway.

Respray

Paint doesn't look too bad to warrant a respray? I've had few done at Jacksons an although they make a good job, the paint can be prone to chipping. I've had some done locally by Hutchcoat- powder coated -which is a lot tougher and he makes a realy tidy job, looks more like a wet spray and they can do any colour even multiple. They are about half Jacksons price too.

It is really, the above pics are flattering - bad light too! i also had to have the chainstay welded at the drop-out! I've kind of got my heart set on a the same colour as it was... but now you've got me pondering.... is it gonna be a rider or a garage queen....?

well it's nearly done. i got the re-sprayed frame, forks & stem back from bj's just over 2 weeks ago. when i came to build the bike, i still needed decals and then noticed that there was a part missing from a canti. am waiting for a mate to knock me one up on his lathe and then i'm fully in business.

did have some onza rip n rail tyres on, but then a mate spotted these wildgrippers at a carbooty this morning. loving it!

Now the next question is: How far do i go with red ano?
I've some red bottle cage bolts on order, want a red seat-clamp if i can get a red one that fits. Do I do crank & chainring bolts too?

apologies for these pics which by no means do my bro's camera any justice!
