The original RC 30 were painted steel
Some later ones were a shiny Nickel plated

Was there an inbetween period where they used stainless, or a sort of brushed finish? This is what I have, and never knew there were any like it..

Some RC30s were chrome plated. These were the same as the original ones (ie welded steel)
 
RC30

Early production RC30 was a bright chrome finish with welded brake mounts for cantis or maguras, later went to a brushed nickel coloured chrome about 1997/8. All were bolted crown & bonded dropouts, the later ones varied in leg length to suit frames with sus fork geometry :cool:
 
Do you have a piccie Gump? Not quit sure how old my RC30's are but they're shiney (don't think they're plated though)
