1998 GT STS

Summer's here and I've got my bike mojo back after a bit of a hiatus, so here's one of a few I've not yet posted. I've had this bike together for a few years but have recently given it a fairly significant rebuild, adding a Risse air shock to the rear and swapping a few parts out to bring the overall weight down to a respectable number.

Thanks all around.

I went after a carbon + CNC theme to compliment the frame construction. Almost dumped the yellow Kore stem, but there's something distinctively GT about it to me, so it gets to stay for now. Committing to cutting down the excess tubes (seatpost and f. derailleur mount) that are often present and very visible on the STS went a long way toward cleaning up the overall appearance of the bike. I may skin the nasty overkill decals from the forks, but I'm fairly pleased with it for now.

I have '98 JUDY SLs for my Xizang and I plan to remove the decals and paint and spray them white, I know that will upset some people, but those big decal sleeves just look a bit too gaudy for my liking.
