Is it wrong to want to do this ?

fork problem is easy solved just get a cheap carbon fiber unit

Sorry, but that sounds like horrible advice. 'Cheap' and 'Carbon Fiber' should never be in the same sentence.

Just about to say that...BB7 up front...whatever you want V on the back...same levers...nice and tidy and does the job.

Ditto that.

Avid BB7's are looking good.I doubt they do a centerlock rotor though :?:

Any pointers as to who does teh best deals on them ?

I guess I'll just start with either a 160 or 185 dia version or should I just stick with the 160 version.

Thanks.............

The front disc sounds good to me. Just stick to say a 160 max. I have just got a zaskar and am thinking of the same thing. A magura on the back to keep the hydro theme. Look at the Echo hydro rim brakes they are very nice.
Don't worry about what every one else thinks just build it the best way for your riding style.

The disc front rear V always reminds my of cheap catalogue bikes, but the more i see on here the more it grows on me

I do miss a disc on the front :(

Zask + front disc is what i've done. I've played with an A2Z disc mount on the back but it doesn't work well enough, back to an XTR V methinks!
