Anyone got any clues on this, Think it has been stickered by Mongoose but not built by them as they have put 3140 cromo stickers on the rear stays :?
Brazilian flag on the toptube is another puzzle. It had chorus BB front mech and seatpost when I got it.
Serial Number on non drive side rear dropout is 5(1)C(1)523F5 the 1s are not as clear as the other digits.
weighs bugger all :D
Mongoose in the US had no clue  ("we dont know about bikes that old")! its probably only early 90s at best!
Any help appreciated

Cheers

That's interesting. Is the head tube area a monocoque style or are there bonded joints and 'lugs'? It looks as if it could be carbon or light alloy rather than steel. Do magnets stick to it?!

Its bonded carbon tubes to aluminium lugs, I suspect that the frame was made by someone else and then badged by mongoose possibly for a team .

Maybe this is a really daft questions, but why do you think it is carbon? The riveted rear brake bridge would be very strange. Top seat lug does not look like Alan, by the way.

There are a couple of chips in the paint with carbon underneath :)

Pretty sure its english thread but i will double check.

Cheers
