so, here is another of my budget rebuilds.

the blue paint came from a boot sale at 50p per can, seemed a perfect retro colour.

Near NOS Cinelli bars/ stem

Cinelli Unicantor saddle

Shimano 600 mechs, 'arabesque' rear/ chainset.

Shimano 600 AX 'Delta' style cantilevers/ 105 aero levers

Shimano cup/ball BB (very nice!)

Tange Levin headset

Campagnolo Record hubs onto Mavic GP4 rims

Found the forks on a Raliegh Clubman- perfect for this build but a bit rusty!
I know its a strange mix of english/ italian and japanese but what the hey.

Anyway - ideas for bar tape colour and decals please, ta.

Wow the paint looks great, at least from the photo :)

Is that the Cinell saddle with aluminium rails in a sort of Y shape?

It's just me, but I've never liked those later Mavic rim stickers, the earlier red stickers look so much better.

White bar tape is always the "classic" look and goes with any frame colour.

Yes, its the alu railed saddle - might try gold tape with gold decals.

The paint... hmmm, yes, the paint, it is pretty good actually but the frame has dints and dings everywhere.

Forks are from a Raleigh Clubman, which I guess is a touring bike and/or had 27in wheels. IMO not ideal for this bike.

OK, this could be possibly over fussy, depending on one's point of view :) :

Front and rear brake clearances don't match.

Fork clearance too deep for a racing bike of its era.

Increased fork length resulting in the top tube sloping backwards, ie the whole bike is tipped backwards slightly.

Finally, it doesn't look right!

Picky *******s

;) ;)

Yellow bar tape and decals would go with the blue frame very well.

And brave man for intending to ride on tubs.
