I'm bored of playing mp3's on my pc through crappy tinny desktop speakers. I want something better.

All I have coming out of my laptop is a normal 2.5mm(?) jack plug like you get on sound cards.

what can I hook it up to? Not looking to spend megabucks, but £40-50 maybe?

oh - can't involve usb as I have run of of ports even on my 4 port hub

ffs if you want hi-fi quality then go buy a hi-fi.

Pop to richer sounds see what amp and speakers they have and buy a 3.5mm to phono leads cable and use auxilary input.

Otherwise it'll be better desktop tinny speakers but not Hi-Fi quality ;)

Oh if you've got a sterio already, why not use that with said cable.

you aint heard my pc m8,easily as good as my old seperates stuff (arcam,b&w,nad etc)...

I bought some Harman Kardon Soundsticks II the other week.

They look and sound fab (to my untrained ears)

 I wish I had known , I have a set of these for my Mac that I have only used a couple of times, and they are going up for sale, as they never get used and they are just collecting dust

they do sound quite good, not as good as a seperates system but they are certainly one of the best plug in speaker systems for computers :)

That would have been very cool but I'm in Singapore

Of course, the day I got them I realised I needed a Mac to go with them to complete the look
