I think it's how we brits pronounce it. Turnham would be said "turnhEm" where as an american would say "turnhAm" so the comedy isn't there.

We have a Chinese take out nearby. My son did not like the smell. Ever since we called it "Stinky-Chinese". They have the best noodles. ( I know, random)
