pre1993 semi carbon Alan - #'updated pics'#

It was sold to me as a 1993 or 1994 'Alan' the only identifying marks are the numbers 040 under the seatstay bridge.
Any help identifying/confirming the maker would be apreciated.

Looks like an Alan to me. Ive got several mates with Alan road bikes of about the same date and they look very close to that

yeah - the carbon Look frame that was on ebay the week before i was out bid on by £6 (went for £86).
It will be built into a singlespeed.

Cant say I am loving the riser bar style build, but its all personal choice at the end of the day

I think British Eagle had a alu-carbon frame, though Alan may have built it for them.

Definitely Alan

I think it's earlier than 94 though. I used to ride with a guy that had one in 93 and he'd had it for a couple of years already.

Yeah i think its an early one - the rear dropout is non replaceable and its was around 93 / 94 that they came in.
