Sidi Dominators knackered after 1 ride!

A group of 10 of us went up to Afan yesterday, including dirtjumper_dmr and myself. We completed the W2 ride (I think about 24 miles). This was the first time I've worn my Dominators since I bought them in an almost new condition. Here are the before and after pics:

Plastics degrade over time. The plastic in your shoes appears to have embrittled.

At least it wasn't a component like a steerer or handlebar that failed due to age/fatigue

Yep, that's true! I was riding my Rektek for first time.

...but will be taking something bouncey next time!

I have the same shoes with same issues .

they are 15 years old so no surprises .

I took all the plastic off , made a small hole in the leather to attach the clip thingy .

I use them everyday .

I used a pair of those until last year, when the sole came detatched from the upper and the plastic was cracking aswell. They only lasted 12 years :roll:

Replaced them with a new modern pair, and I'm hoping to get 12 yrs out of those aswell
