Have to share this with you guys.
Last week I was subject to a fraud in which a car I had bought on eBay had 'gone missing'. Its a long story which for legal reasons I cannot go into. The seller refuses to hand back the money, eBay could not help apart from passing on the files to the Police and banning him as a user. Trading Standards also told me that the chances of getting my money back was pretty slim as this guy had covered his tracks with addresses etc. I was not covered by paypal as the seller had asked for electronic transfer of the funds, so i looked pretty well stuffed.
Anyhoo. About 10 minutes ago i got a call from eBay. They chatted about the case for 5 minutes and then said although usually they do not get involved with such matters, as a loyal and regular customer of theirs they have put £500 into my paypal account to soften the blow!
It falls short of what i have lost but I think it is an incredible jesture when they didn't have to. Today eBay is in my good books and yes, we all moan about them on here all too often, but today they have given something back and I feel they should be given a good Karma pat on the back.
Cheers eBay!
