I echo richie-t!! It's really good for a first go!! 
But, yeah, getting a website designer in would be a brill idea, they know what they're doing, after all it's their full-time job!!
And (depending where you are!) I know a fab guy in South Wales who is really good at web design!!

P.s. As a girl I like the sparkles, but if you want to attract men too ... maybe the sparkles should be not so prominent!
