Was tempted to keep this quiet and buy it for myself, but I can't really afford it, and someone else's need will be greater than mine!

Now that, I need! Now to find out if he'll post it here... Have you already asked him by any chance?

Serotta made Yo, 1995 maybe 1996

Very nice, but I would have seattube inside carefully checked

Thanks :) (& thanks to the original poster too!)

I don't know if I'll end up with this one, but I've kinda decided to do my next project 'properly' - ie find something really nice rather than just something that comes up locally! A Yo's got to be pretty much at the top of my list... don't know much about them though I have to admit :oops:

What are the differences between years then? Different problems to look out for? Are the early ones 1" & later 1 1/8"? Cheers for any advice!

Ziggy,

Take a look overhere => http://www.firstflightbikes.com/fat.htm

Few things:

Somewhere around 93 suspension corrected for 2" forks. Two lengths FAT forks excist.

Since 95 Serotta made. For some an emotional burden, but lighter tubing (same as 10th), CNC dropouts, nicer paint (clearcoated). Power domes now welded on instead of shaped out stays, gusset looks different (more rounded, instead like an arrow looking)

Since 97 1-1/8 (in serial# donoted with a # starting in 2000)

Always check the seattbe for rust, as it is sealed but water can still enter after a wetride or washing. Ventilation sucks though. More sealed bikes suffer from this.

amazing stuff there! all the better for the favourably exchange rate!

I'm sure one of our american friends will help with postage - one made an offer to do this recently, forget who it was now...

Well... he'll post to the UK! :D

I'm not sure if I'll go for it yet... doesn't mention if he's got the forks for a start & I doubt I'd see another pair any time soon...

Do these chips look like an issue to anyone...?
