White Brake Outers...

This bike is friction only so I'm hoping that it won't make too much difference. Here it is so far:

If it's friction then it'll generally be OK. It's when you use it with indexed gears that you can have problems.

The big problem is finding matching so if you can get either or it should be ok. It was me that started a search a while ago. I ended up with the stuff from CRC which is ok but not really mega white, you can see it in my KHS thread in my sig. I had seen some nice retro stuff the other day but can't find it now  the other tip was to use shrink wrap :?:

Nokon cables. They work really well but they're a pain to set up. It took me an hour just to do a set of gear cables with these (it's the little bits you have to thread on that do it).

That said I think I'll get some for my Saracen. ;)

The new Gore ride-on cable sets available at leisure lakes in white. Gear and brake. Shame they are £30 for each set equating to £60 to do your bike

Well worth it in the long run in my opinion :D

I got mine form Sylvain on here who bought it from a clearance bin in his lbs for £10 .
it is the old one though , not the new realeased ones .

Picked some up in John's Bikes in Bath on Saturday. Not sure how much they had in stock but they were expecting more in. Presumably because all the new Trek road bikes in the shop all have white cable outers this year and white is the new black......
