Im am so pleased to have found these forums, and amazed to see such interest in retro bikes exists... You really can find any thing on the web.
Ive been watching a few Ebay auctions of kona's and kliens (used to have a cindercone as my second bike...and miss it dearly) And noticed they prices were very "respectable" for what i though would have been classed as old hat these days.
Well i'll probably be back here looking for info and sources for my project.
Im currently looking to get my old 94/5 marin team back up to speed after neglecting it by leaving it in the shed for 8 years unused while i went and developed a beer belly at university.
Biggest problem ive found so far is the reason i found these forums, Pace RC35 elastomers, the heat rise and fall of the typical garden shed has perished my poor old elastomers to virtually dust.
On top of that the bike basicly needs a complete new back wheel & 7speed block.
& the front wheel isnt in the best of condition...at least a new hub required there.
Any way, that was just a quick intro and to say hi, hopefully i'll be tapping some info out of you at a later date as to where best to find spares etc.
