OK, all paid up and with vital statistics sent.

Training so far:
Cycling to work
Eating my own body weight in cheese

Training plan
Cycle the long way home across the downs
Eat less cheese
Long weekend bike rides
100 sit-ups every morning

Not very comprehensive but I am yet to work out the finer details...
 
Training? You mean we are supposed to train I thought this was the casual team?

Glad im not the only one now crapping me pants!! :shock:

It's not the winning that counts, it's the beating the other retrobike teams :LOL: :shock: :D

Today's training so far:
Avoid 100 situps
Get lift to work
Eat bacon & egg bagel
11am biscuits
Cheese sandwich for lunch

Training plan for the rest of the day:
Sit at my desk
Make tea
Sit at my desk
Multiple beer lifts

It all seems to be going as expected :cool:
 
Paid and emailed vitals.

Kept up the commute all week and will try to get out on the road bike or MTB for a longer spin over the weekend.
 
Will you keep updating if people drop out later? I'd like to have a go but girlfriend is coming over from Brazil in June and not sure of exact dates yet. I might be able to fill a place if theres a late cancellation.

about me:

age 31, not very fit but started some road training rides this week in a bid to change that. Haven't raced since Malverns 99 and am a pretty unskillful rider :oops:

Bike (in bits at moment, awaiting new headset) is Orange P7 1994 lx groupset. Following non-original changes:

Modern deore Vbrakes (have original cantis if really neccesary)
Back wheel newer LX version (parellax) than front.
Middleburn RS7 square taper crankset (have original LX but no chainrings)
Saddle WTB rocket v (have original San Marco Rolls
Manitou 3 forks (have original rigids)
Pedals...uncertain..maybe speedplay's. Have original LX but they are very rough.
Headset will be period deore. Can't get bearings for original LX.
 
Just been to the gym - looking at all the totty gets my heart racing, is this good exercise?
