ok so i'm trying to get a front mech for my trailstar according to what i can see it has a seat tube external diameter of 30.0mm and i cant find a mech that size.... any ideas?

get a 31.8 mm and make a shim with a coke can , bit of inner tube etc...

although it seems to suggest that you need a 30.0 seat clamp.. god know where you'd get one of those from... DMR themselves I hope??

The XT one comes with a shim to fit any bike. My 08 Orange Prestige has got a 28.6 seat tube with a shimmed XT mech on it. You'll be fine!

yeh my bad... i guess i missed that, i blame the drinking i just presumed that the size would be the same for the seatclamp and the mech the XT mech i bought covers that size so i'm ok i messaged dmr about the seatclamp thing a while ago 'cos the new dmrcolour one comes in like 30.2 or something but they said one of their guys uses that on his trailstar ok....
