it is in a really good condition,...no rust at all
and he is a bikeshop owner,...
hmmmm... that will be a tough negotiation then. does he know about the retro thingy and is he aware that you are bike-nuts (like me)?

yes he knows and he just accepted my offer,..

and i can tell you,..i made him a good deal

From bike shop owner: Traded in for something new maybe? Often they let such go for what they paid for it. Matter of goodwill and they are sure you won't come back for service or stupids q's. Such odd bikes are not their core business. Most shops want to simply prevent old 2nd hand bikes piling up.

sounds reasonable. i just wanted to point out that dealing with someone (whoever) who knows what a bike is worth is much harder.

Hi all,
I have this specialized that is hardly used and in very good condition. It is totally original, even down to the tyres. It has the specialized computer and water bottles/cages that were bought as extras with the bike in April 1996. It even has the original dealer sticker on the frame.

I also have all the original documents including the owners manuals, the original shop price tag (£995) and the purchase receipt.

I used it for a couple of months before moving house and putting it in storage. I took it for its first ride in 12 yrs last saturday!! I have called in at my local specialized dealer and they think it would appeal to a collector of sorts who fancies a retro ride in original condition.

Here's a few links for some pictures.

So, any ideas on it's value?

I am considering selling it to fund a new bike as I am planning on doing the C2C later this year and think it would be a shame to use this one, plus I would want to use rear panniers etc and they wouldn't fit this.

I look forward to your comments!!

Paul

Have some Mountain Cycle kit, all fitted to early demo bikes then removed and stored since (untested)

2x sets of Prostop brakes
3x Suspender Forks

Not got a clue of value, please can anyone help.

All in used but good condition.

Cheers
Matt
